Salsa Class Beginner Level I

 

This is a brief reminder of what we go over in class, the purpose of this page is so you can look at it and remember the steps explained in class and practice them at your own time.

Couple of things to keep in mind:Image

  • Relax! remember that this is supposed to be FUN!
  • Keep your weight forward, step with ball of the foot
  • Men start forward with L and back with R
  • Ladies start back with R and forward with L

Steps:

  1. Basic Forward = (BF)
  2. Basic Side to Side = (BS)
  3. Basic Back to Back = (BB)
Turns: (Ladys turn on 5-6-7, Men on 1-2-3)
  1. Forward Right = (FR)
  2. Forward Left = (FL)
  3. Side to Side Right = (SR)
  4. Side to Side Left = (SL)
Combinations:
  1. (BF) men leads lady to (FR) with R hand  
  2. (BF) men leads self to (FR) with R hand
  3. (BF) men leads lady to (FL) with R hand
  4. (BF) men leads self to (FL) with L hand
